Update: Jon has became a major advocate and leader in the fight to expose sexploitation of children within the United Kingdom. For example, he has helped abuse victims within U.K.Children's Homes gain justice and to punish the perpetrators . In order to bring greater publicity for this critical issue, he has also developed a You Tube Channel in which he interviews other whistle-blowers who help bring to light incidents involving pedophilia; he also interviews victims of sexual abuse who are willing to go public and professionals who can assist the victims of childhood abuse.
Jonathan Wedger is one of a very small number of British police officers who, while still on active duty, spoke out strongly against the cover up of child sex abuse. He has paid a huge price for his bravery and commitment to protect children. In his long and lonely struggle for justice, Jonathan urgently needs our prayers and financial support.
Jonathan Wedger is a decorated Police Detective and devoted Christian in London, England. Jon was performing his Professional and Biblical duty to serve and protect, trying to shield vulnerable children from sexual exploitation when he became harassed and persecuted by his own police force, particularly after Jon went public with the situation. They wanted the facts of Jon’s investigation covered up. It appears that certain senior police officers are keen to protect people who profit from child prostitution or in pimping them out.
Jon’s salary was cut in half in January 2017, and the police intended to reduce his salary to zero in June 2017. The relentless bullying that Jon endured for being a "whistle-blower" brought on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), causing him to apply for medical retirement from the police. After being refused for several years, he was finally able to receive a pension for his 23 years of service.
Most British police officers dare not speak out against such corruption while they are actively serving, for fear of a backlash and of losing their pension. The London Evening Standard, reported on Friday 7 August 2015 that dozens of retired British police officers were "desperate to tell the truth" over claims of sex abuse by important and influential men; yet they too were told to keep quiet.
Jon had an excellent record before he exposed the police's cover up of child prostitution in London. He had received eight senior officer commendations, three service medals and many quality of service reports. His investigative ability has been praised by local, national and international media. Jon had even gained a place in Scotland Yard's Black museum as the result of one of his investigations.
After suffering a breakdown in 2016 brought on by post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) caused by the wrongful treatment he received from the Police establishment, Jonathan Wedger began a lawsuit against Scotland Yard for damages. He seeks compensation for the psychiatric injuries incurred from work-related stress brought about by the bullying he received for exposing child abuse and corruption at the highest levels of British society. He asserts the bullying began after he filed an intelligence report alleging that police colleagues were covering up the prostitution and pimping out of girls as young as nine. His lawsuit includes requested compensation for being forced into early retirement after 23 years of honorable service with the Metropolitan Police. His local Member of Parliament, Sir Mike Penning supports his claims.
Sir Mike indicates that “There are some really serious answers to deal with both on what John says happened and the way he was treated afterwards.”
